Early Life

He was born on 20th October 1997 in Moscow the capital and largest city of Russia. His father Andrey Rublev Sr., a former professional boxer turned restaurant manager and his mother Marina Marenko a tennis coach at the Spartak Tennis Club.

Career

He started his professional career at the Bulgaria F6 Futures, reaching the quarterfinals. He continued his career in Bulgaria, where he again reached the quarterfinals but became runner-up in doubles.

He participated in 2015 Miami but lost to American John Isner. He entered the clay season at the Barcelona Open, whereas a qualifier he reached the second round after overcoming Spanish  Fernando Verdasco.

He started the 2016 ATP World Tour at the Chennai Open, losing to Swiss player Stan Wawrinka in the second round. 

He went on to compete at the 2017 US Open as a direct entrant. He achieved his first win against a top-10 player, but lost to Rafael Nadal, in the quarterfinals.

At the 2018 Monte Carlo Masters where he lost to an Austrian professional tennis player Dominic Thiem after having had a match point.

At the 2019 US Open, he defeated Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas in four sets in the first round. In the second round, he won the first set against French professional Gilles Simon, but Simon retired early in the second set, sending him into the third round. here, he lost in straight sets to  Italian player Matteo Berrettini. Swiss professional tennis player Roger Federer played at the 2019 Cincinnati Masters and reached the third round where he lost in straight sets against him.

At the 2020 Australian Open he lost in straight sets to German professional Alexander Zverev of Germany, who advanced to his first Australian Open quarterfinal.

At the Adria Tour, he should compete with Serbian Novak Djokovic. However, one of the participants, Bulgarian professional Grigor Dimitrov, was tested positive for the coronavirus, and so the final match was cancelled.

He won in four sets and advanced to his second US Open quarterfinal. He then lost in his quarterfinal match to Russian professional  Daniil Medvedev in straight sets with two tiebreakers.

He achieved his third tour title of the year at the Hamburg European Open, wherein in the final he defeated Greek professional Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets. In mid-November, at the ATP Finals, he was placed in Group London 2020, where he would be eliminated in the round-robin phase. He started his ATP-Finals debut with a match against Rafael Nadal – the second seed.
