Father’s Name is Pan Singh, an employee in MECON and Mother Devki Devi, a housewife. He is the youngest of his family members.
He has an elder sister Jayanti Gupta and an elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni has completed his schooling at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi.
Later, he enrolled himself at St. Xavier’s College in Ranchi and completed his B.Com. During his student life, his interest was in badminton and Football, especially in goalkeeping.
And gradually he became a regular wicketkeeper at the Commando cricket club ( 1995-98) using his Football goalkeeping experience.
