Who is Zendaya?

She is an American actress and singer. Her performance in the American television series Euphoria in 2019 in the American pay television network Home Box Office (HBO)made her the youngest winner of the Primetime Emmy Award for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She has become an inspiration to the current generation who wants to pursue her career in the music & entertainment industry.

In 2012 she signed with the American record level company Hollywood Records and released her debut single “Replay” which reached number forty on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

Early Life

She was born on 1st September 1996 in Oakland, the largest city and the county seat of Alameda County, California in the United States. Her father Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman is a teacher & mother Kazembe Ajamu Coleman who is also a former teacher.

She studied at Fruitvale Elementary School & at the age of eight, she joined the hip-hop dance troupe Future Shock Oakland. She has also attended the Oakland School for the Arts in her school days and played Little Ti Moune in the Once on This Island. In 2015 when she was pursuing her acting career she becomes a graduate at the Oak Park High School.

Career

She started her career as a fashion model for American department store Macy’s Mervyn & American clothing, Accessories and retailing company Old Navy. In 2009 she was a  featured performer in the Kidz Bop Music video for its cover of the song “Hot n Cold” by  American singer and songwriter Katy Perry. In 2011 she released her debut single “Swag It Out” same year in June she released “Watch Me” Performing with American actress and model Bella Thorne. The song reached eight six on the billboard hot 100.

She got her first movie role in the Teen comedy-drama television film and anthology based on the novel by Alexa young titled “Frenemies” in 2012. On 2nd September 2012, she signed with American record label company Hollywood Records. Her self-titled debut album was released on 17th September 2013. In November 2013 her name selected as American radio personality Elvis Duran’s “Artist of the month” and was featured on American English language commercial broadcast television and radio network named National Broadcasting Company (NBC)’s “Today”. It’s an American news and talk morning television show. 

On 3rd February 2016 her song “Something New” released featuring American rapper singer and songwriter Chris Brown. The song released via Hollywood record and New York city-based record label company Republic Records.

In December 2016 she appeared as a guest judge of the 15th season of the television reality show “Project Runway”. She made her movie debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming. It was released in July 2017. The movie is based on Marvel Comics in which she performed the fictional character named Michelle Jones with American actor and producer Robert Downey Jr. who was in a lead role. The first-week collection of the movie was $ 117 million (Rs 8,70.03 Cr). The same year in August she appeared in the music video for the song “Versace on the Floor”  a song by American singer-songwriter and record producer Bruno Mars. 

She would Perform a fictional character of Chani in the movie “Dune”. The Epic science fiction movie was directed by French Canadian film director Denis Villeneuve. The movie would be released in the United States on 22nd October 2021. She would also rejoin with the American film director Jon Watts’s Movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. She always gives credit as her singing influencer to American singer & songwriter Beyonce.
